Types of Specialization Modules

Teaching Business English

English is the language of communication for international business. TESOL/TESL/TEFL teachers qualified to teach business English are in high demand overseas. This Specialization Module will give you the skills and strategies required to teach adults who use English in a professional environment. In this course you will learn how to relate business topics to teaching English. As a result, students do not need to have a business background to take this module.

Teaching English to Young Learners

Many overseas TESOL/TESL/TEFL positions require you to teach children, a task that is both challenging and fun. Compared to adults, children are more energetic, have shorter attention spans, and learn language according to their stage of development. The key to teaching English to young learners is knowledge of the principles of language acquisition and how to apply them to keep children motivated. This Specialization Module will provide you with a good foundation in classroom management techniques and supply you with interactive ideas for teaching to children of different ages and levels.

Teaching TOEFL iBT® Preparation

TOEFL iBT® (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) measures how well non-native speakers can read, write, speak, and understand English. Passing the TOEFL iBT® examination is a pre-requisite for international students hoping to study in North American post-secondary institutions. In addition, a student’s TOEFL iBT® score may be used to determine job placement within the student’s home country. As a result, ESL students all over the world are seeking certified teachers trained in TOEFL iBT® preparation. This Specialization Module is designed by experts in the field to provide you with strategies to help students successfully pass the exam.
